Amir Ali Orough Nassiraei (Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan)
Ming-Yi Ju (National University of Tainan, Taiwan)
Humanoid robots have a significant impact on our society, such as education, medicine, entertainment, manufacturing, industries and overall cultures. In order to perform these human tasks, intelligent systems are necessary in implementing humanoid robots. The humanoids are a kind of a man-like machine with our intellectual abilities. Intelligent systems play an essential role in making human-like robots. Thus, the intelligent systems enable robots to carry out the ability to learn about anything, the ability to reason, the ability to use language and the ability to formulate original ideas. Its research areas reach out comprehensive ranges; machine vision, natural language processing and machine learning, common sense reasoning and knowledge, robotic agility and motion, human- -robot interaction, robot design , and applications.

This special issue will present excellent research results, theory and applications to researchers. We solicit prospective authors to contribute original and unpublished researches in humanoid robotics, especially those outlined above. Major topics of interest cover, but not limited to;

Artificial Intelligence
Intelligent Control
Intelligent Robotics
Genetic/Evolutionary Algorithms
Machine Learning
Vision and Sensors
Computational Intelligence
Learning and Adaptive Systems
Cognitive Modeling
Human- Computer Interaction
Robot Design

We invite authors of the 14th International Symposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems (ISIS2013) to submit the extended version of their papers to this Special Issue. The Guest editors will select outstanding papers among accepted papers of ISIS2013.

All the submissions for the special issue of the IJHR will undergo the regular IJHR review process.
